So, last night we had our Release tourney for Brave and the Bold. We had 14 or 16 players for it, which was a pretty good turnout. I thought that it was 300 points sealed and didn't check. It was 400. I wasn't sure which one to go with as I could have used either the 2 Goodness and Mercy or Metallo and then fill out with support pieces after that. I had a hard time building it as I wasn't sure which way to go and ended up building my 300 point team with the 2 Goodness and Mercy. It wasn't until we got started with the first round that I noticed my error and was sure I'd lose, but I managed to win it on points. After that I was able to add another 100 points to my build to bring me up to legal status. Even though I've been playing for 8 years, I have to remember to check the point total for the event to be sure I know what it is. Definately a mistake I won't be making again.

So first round I get to play Mark. Mark is one of the local teenagers that plays and got started with Hammer of Thor. I was playing Goodness and Mercy x 2, Cave Carson, and Jason Blood for this round as I thought it was 300 points instead of 400. Mark was playing Metallo, Braniac, League Assassin, League Elite, and maybe one more figure that I can't recall. I was able to engage Braniac and take him out early to go up on points. After that I tried to hit Metallo, but couldn't touch him. I got the two League members and he managed to get one Goodness and Mercy and Jason Blood. I had to run for the last little bit as I had Cave and the other Goodness and Mercy close to death and a shot from Metallo would kill either of them. I managed to win it by about 50 points or so. Had I known it was 400 points, I would have definately played my own Metallo. Probably him, Goodness and Mercy, and then some of the support pieces. Metallo is a beast and the entire game I only did one damage to him and that was from Mystics when he killed Jason Blood. 1-0

Second round I got paired with Chris. Chris was running Hawkman and Atom, Luthor and Braniac, and Inertia. I managed to get to Luthor and Braniac with both Goodness and Mercy to hit them pretty good. I managed to finish it off while I think he got one of my Goodness and Mercy. I got a few hits onto Hawkman and Atom and then he forgot to use the second attack on a duo attack, which could have possibly killed that one. It was close to death and I broke away from Hawkman and Atom and ran to Diana Prince. I got my Support roll and then rolled a 3 for the heal. I used Prob on it and rolled a 6 to put Goodness and Mercy back onto her good clicks. After that we called it as there wasn't much Hawkman and Atom could do before I finished them off. 2-0

So I was feeling alright. I didn't have the best team in the world and had managed to avoid most of the really good pieces in the set. That was until round 3. I played Patrick who was playing Wizard Shazam, Talia, Madamoiselle Marie, and League Elite. My 0 range wasn't looking so great. So Shazam came up and took a pot shot onto one of the Goodness and Mercys. I then came with both of them and based Shazam. Next turn I went to hit him with CCE attacks from both of my Goodness and Mercys as if they hit , I leave Shazam on his last click. I didn't hit any attack rolls and that's the story of this game. I managed to hit a few attacks but the main ones I needed I missed. Meanwhile Patrick was rolling hot and managed to clean house. Different dice it might have been a different game, but Shazam just beat down my team. I really like Shazam and might put him on my next constructed team. 2-1

So I ended up 2-1 and about 5th or 6th in points as I didn't get any points at all that last round. For the release event everyone got to choose between either the graveyard map or one of the Lanterns from the prize kit. I picked the Orange Lantern and my brother got the Green Lantern for me. So overall not too bad of a night. Despite having a bad blunder on team building, I feel pretty good to still come in at 2-1.
