Heroclix 300 points 02/08/2008

Here's a tournament report from a Heroclix 300 point tournament I played in on 02/08/2008.

So it was the first local tourney for the Planet Hulk Dial. I knew other people were bringing competitive teams so I had planned a few different teams. I debated between a spy army and between this robot one. I really like playing Danger so in the end I went with her.

First round I played Michael who was playing Monster keyword, Rampaging Hulk, ZZaxxx, and M&M Zombie Spiderman. We battled a bit back and forth. My dice were cold the first few rounds and then they got hot and I started hitting attacks. Michael's dice completely abandoned him at that point of the game and he began to roll really low. He ended up killing Danger, but not long after that Superman Robot and Ahab were able to finish off Hulk and then make short work of Spidey for the win. 1-0

Second round I played Chris who was playing Gambit, FC Marvel Girl, Storm, X-23, and Avengers Scarlet Witch. This game was very back and forth. Chris got an early shot on Ahab to weaken him. After that I had a combined Superman Robot attack and Danger psychic blast that killed Gambit on the 3rd turn. Then it was mainly dealing with Storm. Storm proved to be alot more dangerous as she was able to kill Robot Superman. Ahab followed soon after. I then got into a spot where I was able to base Storm out of hindering with Danger so that she wouldn't be granted stealth later in her dial. Marvel Girl and Scarlet Witch joined in on the fight. I think I really had a shot at that point. However Scarlet Witch ended up critting me, which knocked me back away from Storm long enough for her to do her dirty work from range. 1-1

Third round I played a guy who's name I forget but he had traveled a bit to come out and play. He was playing M&M Zombie Wolverine, OOTS Batman, and Winter Soldier. He made an early move to try to weaken Ahab. As he did that, I concentrated on Winter Soldier and got a Hypersonic attack onto him with Robot Superman, which knocked him off of stealth. After that Danger shot him to pretty much finish him off. Then Superman stayed there to work on Batman. Batman took a risk with a push and crit missed. After that Superman Robot was able to take him. While that battle was going on, Danger and Ahab were able to weaken and eventually kill Zombie Wolverine. 2-1

We then did the roll off for fellowship Bob Barker style, highest roll with out going over. I never seem to get these rolls but the dice gods smiled on me as I rolled an 8 and managed to get fellowship. It was good to be able to win it Friday night as I was able to then have fun the rest of the weekend.
